Revolut — balance at a glance
Balance, pockets and recent transactions on the board. Read-only, and currently showing demonstration data.
A read-only view of an account: balance, pockets and the last transactions, so "can I actually afford this" is answerable without opening a banking app and its login flow.
Read-only is the whole design. Nothing here can move money, and it never will — a dashboard that can spend is a dashboard you have to be careful with, and being careful is expensive.
Right now it is a demo
The widget currently shows demonstration data. Revolut has no direct API for retail accounts; a real connection has to go through Open Banking (PSD2), via a licensed account-information provider.
That work is planned and the widget's shape is already the real one, so connecting it later changes what the numbers say and nothing about how it looks.
Two things worth knowing about Open Banking in advance:
- Consent is read-only by design and expires roughly every 90 days, at which point it has to be renewed. That is the regulation, not our choice.
- Credentials never reach us: authorisation happens on the bank's own page.
Until then, treat the numbers on this tile as illustrative — they are not your account.
