Live Cockpit and the Radar

Add enough widgets and the board grows past the bottom of the screen. That is a real problem here and not a cosmetic one: a widget below the fold is a widget you forget exists, and "out of sight, out of mind" is not a figure of speech for an ADHD brain.

Live Cockpit is the answer. Turn it on and the whole board fits on one screen, always. No scrolling.

How it works

The grid becomes a fixed stage of two rows. Widgets are packed into it by the priority you set — pinned first, then hero tiles, then wide ones, then your drag order. Whatever doesn't fit does not disappear: it degrades into a Radar chip, a small pill in the band under the Cockpit.

A chip still shows its widget's live state, so nothing goes dark. Click one and the widget comes back onto the grid permanently, taking the first slot after your pinned tiles; whoever no longer fits slides into the Radar in its place.

Live Cockpit never moves widgets on its own. The layout only changes when you change it — dragging, pinning, resizing or clicking a chip. Nothing rearranges itself behind your back while you are looking away.

Turning it on

Two ways:

• Customize → Layout → Live Cockpit (the palette icon in the top bar).
• When your board gets long, Divergify offers it once, with a Try Live Cockpit button. Decline it and it stops asking; dismiss with "Don't show this again" and it never asks again.

Switching it off puts every widget back on the classic scrolling grid, in exactly the order you had.

On a phone

The stage is a desktop shape — two rows of tiles need width. On a narrow screen Live Cockpit keeps your single column and every widget stays in it; the Radar band shows just the + for adding a widget.
