Notifications and reminders

A heads-up before your commitments, one look at the day in the morning, quiet hours — and why iPhone needs the app installed.

Open the bell in the top bar for your notifications and their settings.

Before your commitments

Turn on Warn me before an event and choose how early — a few minutes, or however long you actually need to get moving. You get a heads-up before anything with a time on it starts.

This is the one notification designed against time blindness: not a reminder that the meeting exists (you know), but a signal that the moment to stand up is now.

One look at the day

Your day offers, once each morning at a time you pick, a single summary: how many commitments today, and one thing to start from.

It is an offer, not a demand. Ignore it and nothing happens — no follow-up, no badge, no escalation.

Quiet hours silence it during hours you choose. They only silence this one: an imminent commitment always gets through, because that is the notification whose whole job is to reach you.

Making them arrive with the app closed

For a reminder to arrive when Divergify is not open, the browser has to be registered for push. If it is not, you will see: "This browser isn't registered for closed-app alerts: reminders will only arrive while Divergify is open."

On iPhone and iPad this requires the app on your home screen. iOS delivers push only to an installed web app — it is an Apple rule, and there is no way around it from our side. See Install Divergify as an app.

If notifications are blocked

If you refused the browser's permission prompt, Divergify says so and keeps showing notifications inside the app, where it still can.

To undo it: the icon at the left of the address bar → Site settings → Notifications → Allow. On iPhone, also check Settings → Notifications → Divergify.

Sound and vibration

Under Customize → Comfort: pick a notification sound (Chime, Ping, Pop, Marimba, or none) and turn on haptic feedback where the device supports it.

The weekly recap email

A different thing from notifications: an optional Monday email with the week's completed tasks, focus sessions and habit streaks. It is off unless you turn it on, in your profile, and one click there turns it off again.
