Install Divergify as an app

Divergify is a progressive web app. You can install it from the browser, with no store and no download: it then opens in its own window, without an address bar, and keeps working when you are offline.

Why bother

• It opens like an app. Its own icon, its own window, no tab to lose among forty others.
• It works offline. The app shell is cached, so you can open it and look at your board with no connection. Anything that needs the network (fetching new email, the assistant's model answers) waits for it to come back.
• On iPhone it is mandatory for reminders. iOS only delivers push notifications to a web app that has been added to the home screen. Without installing, reminders arrive only while Divergify is open in front of you.

How to install

iPhone / iPad (Safari) — open Divergify in Safari, press the Share button, scroll to Add to Home Screen, confirm. It must be Safari: other iOS browsers cannot install a web app.

Android (Chrome) — a banner usually offers it. Otherwise use the ⋮ menu → Install app / Add to Home screen.

Desktop (Chrome, Edge) — press the install icon at the right of the address bar, or the ⋮ menu → Cast, save and share → Install page as app.

Desktop (Safari) — File → Add to Dock.

After a new version ships

The installed app updates itself in the background. Occasionally a tab left open for days is still running the older version — if something behaves oddly right after an update, close the window and reopen it, or reload with Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac).

Uninstalling

Remove the icon like any other app. Your account and everything synced to it are untouched — reopening the site logs you straight back in.
