Focus Timer — Pomodoro without the guilt

Focus and break cycles, tied to a task and a tag, with a recap of what you actually did today.

A Pomodoro timer, tied to the rest of the app: the session knows which task you are on, and everything that counts your focus minutes reads from the same place.

Running a session

Pick a task (or none — an untagged session still counts), press start, work until the timer ends. It then moves to a break, and after a few cycles to a longer one.

Three tabs: Focus, Break, Long. You can switch manually at any time; the timer is a tool, not an invigilator.

Settings

  • Focus duration, Short break, Long break — in minutes, whatever suits you. The classic 25/5/15 is a default, not a rule.
  • Long break every n pomodoros.
  • Auto-start — move into focus or break without pressing start each time. Useful if pressing the button is itself a place you get stuck.

Tasks and tags

The Tasks tab holds a short working list for the timer, and each session can carry a tag (a project, a client, "admin", "study"). The tag is what makes the recap useful later.

Recap

The Recap tab shows today: pomodoros completed, focus minutes, and a breakdown by tag.

It is deliberately a record of what happened, not a target you failed to hit. There is no daily goal to miss, no streak to break, and an empty recap just says the timer hasn't run yet.

What talks to what

  • Starting a session from a task (Do this now in To-Do, or Start on the Cockpit's "one thing") drives this same timer. There is only ever one session running.
  • The Cockpit's Focus cell shows today's minutes from here.
  • If the widget is sitting in the Radar when a session starts, it comes back onto the grid on its own — the controls have to be reachable.
  • A notification tells you when a pomodoro completes, if you have allowed them. See Notifications and reminders.
