Where the AI actually helps

AI in Divergify is not a chatbot bolted onto the side. It sits in the four places where an ADHD brain actually gets stuck: starting, deciding, sorting and holding the thread.

chunk-it — for starting

The wall before a big task is not laziness, it is that "Draft the Q3 presentation" is not an action. There is nothing to physically begin.

Press chunk-it on a task and the AI returns a handful of steps small enough to start: open the doc and reread the outline · write the first paragraph (5 min) · add the 3 key points · reread and save. They become subtasks of the original.

Re-chunk asks again if the split is not useful. Chunk-it is available on a to-do, on the Cockpit's "one thing" row (Break it down), and on a Brain Dump item — which turns a vague thought straight into a task with steps.

Spin — for deciding

Not AI, but the same job: when choosing between tasks is itself the blockage, Spin in the To-Do widget chooses one for you. Sometimes the value of a choice is only that it was made.

Group with AI — for sorting

In Tab Stash, Group with AI reads your stashed links and sorts them into named themes. Anything it can't place honestly goes under Ungrouped rather than being forced into a group where you will never find it again.

Ask Divergify — for holding the thread

The assistant reads your actual board and answers questions about it. It has its own page: Ask Divergify.

What leaves your device

Only the text needed for the action you asked for. Press chunk-it and the task's title goes to the AI provider (Anthropic); the rest of your board does not.

For the assistant specifically, the tools run on your device, against your own data — the server that talks to the model only ever sees the conversation, never your tasks, calendar or mail.

When no AI is configured

If no AI key is set up, chunk-it falls back to a local heuristic split — cruder, but instant, free and entirely on your device. Nothing breaks and nothing leaves. The AI chat widget says plainly that its replies are simulated until you connect your own provider key to that card — chunk-it and the assistant run on Divergify's key, but AI chat runs on yours.
