Divergify Calendar — the agenda that asks for nothing
Your own agenda inside Divergify: nothing to connect, no permissions to grant, and it never gets written to Google.
The Divergify Calendar is an agenda of your own, kept inside Divergify. There is nothing to connect, no account to authorise, no permission screen to read: put the card on your board and type the first event. It works from the first second.
And, above all: what you write here never goes to Google. Not ever, in any case. That is the reason this agenda exists.
What it needs
Nothing. Genuinely nothing. No connection, no password, no consent to give anyone.
The card
The square tile lists your next events, each with its time and title, and the header counts how many are upcoming. Click anywhere on it to open the full view.
It starts out empty, and that is deliberate: this agenda never shows you invented events dressed up as yours. The first appointment you see in it is the first one you put there.
Create an event
Press Create an event, or click an empty slot in the day/week grid. Fill in:
- Title, Start and End — the only required fields.
- Location — an address, or a video-call link.
- Colour — here you pick it freely. On the Google agenda the colours are Google's to decide; on this one they are not.
- Notes.
Click an event to open and edit it, or drag it to another slot in the day and week views. If something goes wrong the event snaps back where it was and tells you, rather than leaving you thinking it moved.
Opening an existing event never puts the cursor in its title. Only a new event's form autofocuses — so the first key you press cannot rename something you just opened to look at.
Your events show up everywhere
An event written here does not stay locked in its own card. You will find it exactly where you find the Google ones:
- in the Cockpit's Next cell — see The Cockpit;
- in the Today strip;
- in reminders, including the ones that reach you with the app closed — which used to require Google. See Notifications and reminders.
"Put it on the calendar", from the To-Do
When you ask the To-Do widget to put a task on your calendar, the slot is written here whenever Google is not connected. You don't have to choose anything and you don't have to connect anything: the command simply works.
Both agendas at once
You can keep both calendars on the board, side by side: the Google one and this one. They are two separate cards with two separate lists, and neither touches the other. If Google is only for work, this can be the agenda for everything else.
The limit, said plainly
This agenda lives on your Divergify account, which means it lives there only. It does not appear in Google Calendar, nor in your phone's system calendar, nor anywhere else outside Divergify, and you cannot share it with other people.
If an event also needs to be on your phone, or in front of someone else's eyes, write it in your Google agenda instead: use the Calendar widget and, if you haven't yet, connect Google Calendar. The two live together perfectly well.
